Ohio McDonald's closed after a patron discovered a crack pipe in their food

A McDonald's establishment in Ohio, United States, underwent a temporary closure after a customer reported discovering a crack pipe in their breakfast order. The customer, concerned about the safety of others, brought the meal bag back to the store to prevent such objects from ending up in future orders, particularly in children's meals like the Happy Meal.

Sharing the incident on Reddit, the customer recounted finding a crack pipe, a device used for smoking hard drugs such as crack cocaine or methamphetamine, in their breakfast order from the restaurant's drive-thru.

Upon returning the package to the outlet, the customer was offered a refund, which was declined. Instead, the incident was reported to Franklin County Public Health, triggering an emergency health inspection at the outlet located at 619 Harrisburg Pike at West Mound Street. Subsequently, the outlet was temporarily shut down.

As per reports, the health agency granted the outlet until January 4 to address the health code violations identified during the inspection. Following the necessary fixes, the Columbus Public Health spokeswoman confirmed the reopening of the outlet after the temporary closure.

The owner of the fast-food chain outlet, Alex Mendoza, clarified that the temporary closure was due to a "dust issue" and not directly linked to the customer's reported discovery of a crack pipe in a meal. Mendoza mentioned an ongoing investigation into the matter, and local law enforcement has been contacted to report the incident.
