A tragic incident unfolded in Madhya Pradesh's Guna on Wednesday when a private bus, lacking a 'fitness certificate', erupted in flames after colliding head-on with a dumper, resulting in the loss of 13 lives. The ownership of the ill-fated bus was traced back to a BJP leader.
The fatal collision occurred around 9 pm on the Guna-Aaron road, turning the bus into a fireball and leaving 17 others injured. Survivors revealed that the bus driver seemed to be under the influence of alcohol. A pregnant passenger reported sustaining injuries to her forehead.
In the aftermath, Transport Officer Ravi Bareliya and Chief Municipality Officer BD Kataroliya faced suspension due to perceived negligence related to the accident. Reports indicated that the action was taken due to a delay in the arrival of the fire brigade.
Expressing sorrow over the tragic incident, President Droupadi Murmu conveyed condolences to the grieving families and prayed for the swift recovery of the injured. In a Hindi post on X, she remarked on the sadness surrounding the news of multiple fatalities in the Guna road accident.
