After the tragic killing of Arif Jamal, the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) district president in Siwan, his sister-in-law has called for stringent punishment for the perpetrators. In addition to seeking justice, she criticized Sadar Hospital in Siwan, alleging a shortage of medical staff when Jamal was brought in for treatment.
Expressing her concerns, she urged the government to ensure adequate compensation for Arif Jamal's children, emphasizing the need for support in the aftermath of this unfortunate incident.
The untimely demise of Jamal unfolded when unknown assailants shot him in Bihar's Siwan district on Saturday. Jamal, serving as the party's district president in Siwan, was swiftly taken to a hospital, where regrettably, he succumbed to his injuries during treatment. The police are actively investigating the incident, diligently working to uncover the motive behind this tragic occurrence.
Jamal's son, Alkama Arif, recounted the distressing sequence of events, describing how three armed individuals approached his father's stall, initially appearing friendly before abruptly opening fire and fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.
According to a statement from the Siwan police, Arif sustained a fatal gunshot wound to his abdomen around 8:40 pm. Despite immediate efforts to transport him to Sadar Hospital and subsequently referring him to Gorakhpur in Uttar Pradesh for advanced medical care, Arif tragically lost his life during transit.
As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. The police have taken proactive measures by forming a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to delve into the circumstances surrounding the murder. An official FIR is expected to be filed once the family provides a written complaint.
AIMIM spokesperson Adil Hassan expressed deep regret over the unfortunate killing and appealed to the district administration to swiftly implement effective measures to address the situation and prevent the occurrence of similar incidents in the future.
