On Monday, three significant road accidents transpired on the Amritsar-Jalandhar highway, attributed to poor visibility exacerbated by foggy conditions. These incidents occurred at distinct locations along the highway, resulting in considerable damage to approximately 10 vehicles involved in the collisions.
Notably, one of the accidents involved a truck transporting cement, which veered out of control and plunged a considerable distance of 30 to 40 feet off a flyover. Miraculously, the truck driver sustained only minor injuries. However, the chain of collisions led to three individuals suffering severe injuries, necessitating their immediate transfer to nearby hospitals for urgent medical attention.
One of the victims, Gaurav Preet Singh, shared his account, stating that he was en route from Jalandhar to Amritsar when the mishap unfolded. "I could not see due to fog. I applied brakes, and the vehicle coming from behind hit my vehicle," he recounted.
Another individual, Satnam Singh, narrated his experience, mentioning that he was traveling from Hoshiarpur with two companions. Due to the dense fog, their car lost control, culminating in an unfortunate accident.
