At the Gujarati "shobha yatra," stones are thrown at Lord Ram, and police use tear gas shells


A 'sobha yatra' (procession) of Lord Ram in Mehsana district, Gujarat, faced disruption as stones were thrown at it ahead of the upcoming grand 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on Monday. In response to the incident, Gujarat Police took measures to disperse the crowd by firing teargas. According to reports from news agency PTI, the disturbance occurred in Kheralu town.

Inspector General of Police Virendra Singh Yadav confirmed that three teargas shells were fired to control the situation. Subsequently, a combing operation was conducted at the site, resulting in the apprehension of fifteen individuals. The police accompanying the 'shobha yatra' promptly intervened to prevent any escalation, bringing the situation under control. Fortunately, there have been no reports of serious injuries due to the stone pelting.

Currently, the situation at the location remains peaceful, and the police have increased patrolling in the area to maintain order.
