In the urban landscape of Bengaluru, a tragic incident unfolded on a Tuesday evening, where a 19-year-old individual named Vishu Uthappa purportedly took his own life by employing his father's licensed firearm. This sorrowful occurrence occurred at his residence, and the young man's identity has been disclosed as Vishu Uthappa, a first-year engineering student currently enrolled in the inaugural semester of his studies at Raja Rajeshwari Engineering College.
Originating from the quaint Mukodalu village in the Madikeri district, the details of this distressing incident were brought to light through a preliminary investigation. The examination indicated that the teenager met his demise due to a gunshot wound located in his left chest, inflicted by a DBBL (Double Barrel Breech Loading) weapon.
The circumstances surrounding the tragedy unfolded around 4:00 pm, during a period when the house was unoccupied. Vishu Uthappa reportedly utilized the licensed firearm belonging to his father, who held a firearm license as security personnel at Nandi Infrastructures Corridor Enterprises. The parents had momentarily left the residence to retrieve their belongings, and it was during this brief absence that the unfortunate incident transpired.
Providing further context, the Deputy Commissioner of Police, North Division, Bengaluru, conveyed in a press note, "Vishu Uthappa, 19 years old, was shot in his left chest with a DBBL weapon when his parents went out of the house to fetch their belongings." The note also disclosed that the father, KD Tammaiah, has been diligently engaged in depositing funds collected at the Nice Toll to the bank for approximately seven years, holding a valid license for the mentioned firearm.
In response to this distressing event, the authorities have initiated a comprehensive investigation, and the deceased's body has been dispatched for a post-mortem examination to glean further insights into the circumstances that led to this unfortunate loss of life.
