Congress Minister instructs Karnataka temples to conduct'special' puja on January 22

Congress leader and Karnataka's Endowment (Muzrai) Minister, Ramalinga Reddy, has issued comprehensive directives to temples across the state, urging them to partake in a momentous observance on January 22. This significant occasion marks the installation ceremony of the idol of Lord Ram in Ayodhya. The scheduled consecration ceremony, set to unfold between 12:29 pm and 1:32 pm on January 22, prompted Minister Reddy to instruct all Muzrai temples to orchestrate Maha Mangalarati and conduct special poojas, aligning with the auspicious event.

In a communication disseminated through X, Minister Reddy conveyed his instructions, stating, "I have mandated the performance of special poojas in all Mujarai temples across the state on January 22, coinciding with the installation of the idol of Lord Rama in Ayodhya Ram Mandir."

This proactive initiative spearheaded by Minister Reddy seeks to engage temples across Karnataka in actively participating and commemorating the momentous occasion surrounding the Ayodhya Ram Mandir idol installation.

In a preceding development, reliable sources disclosed that the Congress high command had given approval to party leaders interested in attending the inauguration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on January 22. According to insider information, Congress President Mallikarujun Kharge intimated that the invitations extended to him and Sonia Gandhi took into account their esteemed positions in Parliament, specifically as the Leader of the Opposition (Rajya Sabha) and the Chairperson of the Congress parliamentary board, respectively.

Kharge emphasized that the party had not issued any directives to its leaders, affirming that those desiring to partake in the temple's prayers were free to do so, as per sources.
