Danish Ali, a BSP MP suspended, participates in the Congress's "Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra" in Manipur

On the inaugural day of the Bharat 'Jodo Nyay Yatra,' led by Rahul Gandhi in Manipur, suspended Lok Sabha MP Danish Ali, who remains under suspension by the BSP, joined the march. Emphasizing his commitment to the cause, Ali, expressing his views on X, stated that participating in the 67-day-long yantra is not just a political duty but also a social obligation to support Rahul Gandhi's initiative.

The yatra, spanning 6,713 km and covering 100 Lok Sabha constituencies and 110 districts in 67 days, is slated to conclude in Mumbai on March 20 or 21. Notably, Ali faced suspension from the Mayawati-led Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) last month due to perceived "anti-party" activities.

In a post on X after joining the yatra, Danish Ali articulated, "Today, by joining the Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra of Rahul Gandhiji, I sounded the trumpet of the struggle for justice and unity." He characterized the yatra as a concerted effort to secure the rights of the impoverished, deprived, and exploited segments of society, aiming to enhance their quality of life. According to Ali, the yatra symbolizes a broader struggle against divisive politics and a government perceived to operate in favor of the affluent.

This collaboration with Rahul Gandhi is not the first instance of Ali expressing support for the Wayanad MP. In a noteworthy gesture last year, Rahul Gandhi visited Ali during a tumultuous period marked by objectionable remarks made by BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri against the former BSP leader in the Lok Sabha.

Following the visit, an appreciative Danish Ali acknowledged feeling supported and not alone. During the Winter Session of the Parliament in 2023, Bidhuri's derogatory comments about Danish Ali, made during a discussion on the Chandrayaan-3 mission, sparked significant outrage and were subsequently expunged from the records of Parliament.
