Days after his father's departure, Vijayawada Corporator resigns from the Telugu Desam Party

Vijayawada's 11th division Corporator Kesineni Swetha has officially resigned from her position within the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), a move that comes in the wake of her father, senior TDP leader Kesineni Srinivas (Nani), stepping down from both the party and his Member of Parliament post.

Swetha submitted her resignation to the Mayor earlier today and conveyed her sentiments via X, expressing, "With a heavy heart, I inform you that my association with TDP has concluded. I extend my gratitude to N Chandrababu Naidu sir and Nara Lokesh Anna for their mentorship. I appreciate the love and support of the people of Vijayawada. I am committed to serving through Kesineni Bhavan."

The decision by the father-daughter duo to depart from the party stems from the TDP's decision not to nominate Kesineni Srinivas as a candidate in the upcoming Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections.

Srinivas formally announced his resignation from the party on Saturday, hinting at the likelihood of his daughter Swetha also parting ways with the TDP.

The Andhra Pradesh Assembly election is anticipated to take place later this year, coinciding with the Lok Sabha election.
