The BMW vehicle, which was allegedly employed to transport the lifeless body of former model Divya Pahuja from the hotel in Gurugram where she was purportedly murdered, has been successfully located in the city of Patiala in Punjab. Authorities discovered the vehicle securely locked, and as of now, the police have not officially confirmed whether Divya's remains are contained within the car's trunk.
Earlier statements from the police indicated suspicions that Divya's body might have been disposed of in a river situated in Punjab. The Deputy Commissioner of Gurugram Police, Crime, Vijya Pratap Singh, disclosed that the BMW was traced to a bus station in Patiala. Additionally, he conveyed that the two individuals, Balraj and Ravi Bangar, who are suspected to have transported Divya's body to Punjab, are currently evading arrest. A concerted effort is underway to apprehend the two accused.
Pratap Singh further reported the recovery of two mobile phones—one belonging to Divya and the other associated with the primary murder suspect, Abhijeet Singh. Nevertheless, Divya's sister contested this information, asserting the existence of another phone that is currently being sought by the police.
The alleged murder of Divya Pahuja purportedly occurred at Gurugram's City Point Hotel on January 2, with Abhijeet identified as its proprietor. In connection with Divya's demise, Abhijeet and two others, Prakash and Indraj, were apprehended by the Gurugram Crime Branch. Both Prakash and Indraj were former employees at Abhijeet's hotel.
CCTV footage depicted the suspects, including Abhijeet, fleeing the hotel premises in a blue BMW car, reportedly containing Divya's lifeless body in the trunk.
Recounting the events on the day of Divya's alleged murder, the Gurugram Police stated that they received a call from Anoop, who leased the hotel from Abhijeet, reporting the discovery of a body in the owner's room on January 2. Subsequent investigations revealed that Abhijeet, Divya, and another person had arrived at the hotel around 4 am, proceeding to room number 111. While the police were initially searching room 114, the trio had concealed Divya's body in room 111. CCTV footage later confirmed that the accused, at 10:45 pm on the same day, were observed dragging Divya's wrapped body from the hotel to the BMW car.
Abhijeet Singh provided a statement to the police, detailing that he was introduced to Divya by Binder Gujjar. Gujjar, previously arrested by Mumbai Police in 2019 for the alleged orchestration of a "fake" encounter, is currently incarcerated. Abhijeet claimed that Divya, after becoming acquainted with him, took compromising photos and subsequently blackmailed him. Allegedly, when he demanded her phone's password and she refused, he resorted to shooting her.
