In anticipation of the grand 'Pran Pratishtha' ceremony at the Ram Mandir, Ayodhya is preparing to introduce an innovative solar-powered boat, marking a pioneering development in the country's maritime technology.
The 30-seater 'e-boat,' a collaborative venture between the Uttar Pradesh New and Renewable Energy Agency (UPNEDA) and Sunny Boats Private Limited based in Pune, has been designed with a lightweight and durable fiberglass body. Assembled on the banks of the Saryu River, the boat's components have been sourced from various parts of the country, undergoing meticulous testing phases before its anticipated inauguration by Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, coinciding with the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony.
The solar-powered boat operates exclusively on 100 percent solar electric power, with the flexibility to utilize electric energy as an alternative power source. Classified within the catamaran category, the boat features two hull structures that can be conjoined to form a unified structure. The fiberglass construction ensures both durability and environmental friendliness, providing a quiet and eco-conscious operation. With a seating capacity accommodating 30 passengers, the boat is set to embark on a picturesque journey along the Saryu River, covering the scenic architecture in approximately one hour and 45 minutes.
Upon a full charge, the solar-powered boat boasts a commendable operational duration of five to six hours. The boat's propulsion system relies on a 12KW 'electric-outboard-twin motor,' generating 45KW of power per hour, enabling it to carry 30 passengers and two crew members. The director of Sunny Boats Private Limited shared insights into the rigorous testing conducted on January 17 and 18, expressing confidence in the boat's readiness for inauguration before the January 22 event by CM Yogi Adityanath.
