For the ninth time, Nitish Kumar was sworn in as the NDA's chief minister of Bihar

On the preceding Sunday, Nitish Kumar tendered his resignation from the position of Chief Minister of Bihar, formalizing the act by delivering a letter to Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at the Raj Bhavan. Concurrently, Nitish Kumar, in a moment of historical significance, was sworn in as Chief Minister of Bihar for an unprecedented ninth occasion, an event that unfolded within the premises of the Raj Bhavan.

Accompanying Nitish Kumar in the oath-taking ceremony were BJP leaders Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha, who assumed the roles of deputy chief ministers, adding further gravitas to the occasion. Additionally, Janata Dal (United) luminaries Vijay Kumar Chaudhary, Bijendra Prasad Yadav, and Shrawon Kumar pledged their ministerial oaths, symbolizing a coalition of leadership within the state.

Further diversifying the ministerial landscape, BJP stalwart Dr. Prem Kumar, Hindustani Awam Morcha (Secular) president Dr. Santosh Kumar Suman, and Independent MLA Sumit Kumar Singh also solemnized their commitment to serving as cabinet ministers, reinforcing the collaborative spirit underpinning governance in Bihar.

Extending his well-wishes, Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Nitish Kumar on his reappointment as Chief Minister, alongside offering commendations to Samrat Choudhary and Vijay Sinha for their elevation to deputy chief ministerial positions. Through a communication on X, the Prime Minister affirmed the collective resolve of the NDA government in Bihar to pursue comprehensive development initiatives and fulfill the aspirations of the populace.

Expressing optimism in the capabilities of the newly formed administration, Prime Minister Modi asserted his confidence in their unwavering dedication toward serving the citizens of Bihar diligently, emphasizing a commitment to excellence in governance.

Before his resignation, Nitish Kumar had announced his decision within the confines of the Janata Dal (United) legislative assembly meeting earlier in the day. Following this pivotal announcement, the BJP swiftly convened with its MLAs and MLCs, subsequently extending a letter of support to Nitish Kumar in a display of unity and solidarity.

Addressing the media after his resignation formalities, Nitish Kumar disclosed his request to the Governor for the dissolution of the Mahagathbandhan alliance in Bihar, citing systemic concerns within the coalition, primarily involving the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) led by Lalu Prasad Yadav, the Congress party, and three Left parties.

Reflecting on the tumultuous state of affairs within the alliance, Nitish Kumar underscored the imperative nature of his decision, premised upon a culmination of diverse viewpoints and consultations with stakeholders, ultimately culminating in his resignation and the dissolution of the existing government structure.
