Moreover, he accused the agency of orchestrating a media trial against him, casting doubt on the fairness of their proceedings.
The Enforcement Directorate's intensified scrutiny of Hemant Soren follows recent allegations of corruption and financial irregularities leveled against the Chief Minister in connection with a land deal, forming the basis for the latest summons. Despite the agency's earlier flexibility in allowing Soren to choose the date and location for questioning, the Chief Minister has, thus far, refrained from responding to this invitation.
Expressing dissatisfaction with the unfolding investigation, Hemant Soren has asserted that the Enforcement Directorate's actions lack a genuine pursuit of truth and are, instead, a deliberate maneuver aimed at him. His discontent extends to what he perceives as a targeted agenda to besmirch his image and undermine his political contributions, manifesting in an alleged media trial orchestrated by the investigative body.
Within this context, the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Soren's political party in the state, has actively rallied behind the Chief Minister. In alignment with Hemant Soren's stance, the party contends that the repeated summonses from the probe agency are indicative of political vendetta. Party representatives go further to assert that the central agency is being misused by the current central government to selectively target and intimidate opposition leaders, thereby framing the situation as a manifestation of broader political maneuvering rather than a neutral pursuit of justice.
