In Puducherry, a recently built three-story house collapses

On Monday, a three-story house in the adjacent Aattupatti hamlet reportedly collapsed, as per official sources. Fortunately, the house was unoccupied during the collapse. The structure had been recently built and was allocated to a family from the underprivileged section. It was also located in proximity to a drainage canal that traverses the village.

Following the incident, the PWD Minister K Lakshminarayanan, accompanied by department officials, visited the site to assess the situation. The minister provided assurance to the house owner, pledging that a thorough inquiry would be conducted, and necessary measures would be implemented to extend compensation to the affected family.

Former Chief Minister V Narayanasamy and AIADMK State Secretary A Anbalagan also inspected the site and advocated for a comprehensive investigation into the collapse. Additionally, they urged the government to ensure adequate compensation for the affected family.
