Infraction of parliament security: accused is sent to judicial custody by the court

On Saturday, a Delhi court decided to place all six individuals accused in connection with the Parliament security breach case in judicial custody until January 27. Additional Sessions Judge Hardeep Kaur made this decision, ordering the judicial custody for Manoranjan D, Sagar Sharma, Lalit Jha, Amol Shinde, Mahesh Kumawat, and Neelam Azad after they appeared before the court following the expiration of their police remand.

The order was issued in response to an application filed by the Delhi Police, who requested judicial custody for all the accused due to the ongoing investigation. During the hearing, Neelam Azad, one of the accused, claimed before the court that a woman officer had forcibly made her sign over 50 blank papers on Friday. Special Public Prosecutor Akhand Pratap Singh objected to these allegations, and the court recorded the submissions of both sides.

The incident in question involved a major security breach on the anniversary of the 2001 Parliament terror attack. Sagar Sharma and Manoranjan, two of the accused, reportedly jumped into the Lok Sabha chamber from the public gallery during Zero Hour, releasing yellow gas and shouting slogans before being subdued by Members of Parliament. Simultaneously, the other two accused, Shinde and Azad, sprayed colored gas outside Parliament premises while chanting "tanashahi nahi chalegi" (dictatorship will not be tolerated).
