According to officials, it has been alleged that a man in Punjab's Bhatinda murdered his 21-year-old friend and subsequently buried the body in the backyard of his own residence. The incident reportedly came to light on Friday after several days, when the odor emanating from the deceased's body began permeating throughout the house, prompting the authorities to be notified.
As per information provided to India Today by police sources, a young individual identified as Harshdeep had been reported missing since January 17, leading to the filing of a missing person report. Subsequent investigations unveiled Harshdeep's friend, Gurpinder alias Goldie, as the primary suspect in the case. Goldie, along with an accomplice named Baljeet Singh, is believed to have orchestrated the entire gruesome act. Both Goldie and Baljeet, aged between 22 and 23, are implicated in the incident.
Reportedly, the accused initially subdued Harshdeep by obstructing his mouth, before proceeding to bury him in a pit measuring approximately 8 to 10 feet in Gurpinder's residence, which had been pre-dug for this purpose. Furthermore, police inquiries have suggested the existence of a longstanding dispute between Harshdeep and Gurpinder, which allegedly culminated in the murder.
Subsequently, both suspects have been apprehended by law enforcement officials, with ongoing investigations seeking to unravel further details surrounding the case.
