On January 22, a Ram Mandir will be opened not just in Ayodhya but also in Odisha

Amidst the elaborate preparations for the 'pran pratistha' of the idol of Lord Ram in Ayodhya, another noteworthy event is scheduled to unfold in Odisha on January 22 with the inauguration of a Ram Temple. This significant ceremony is set to take place in the Fatehgarh village located in Odisha's Nayagarh district, coinciding with the inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya.

Situated atop a hill, the Ram Temple in Odisha, constructed using the 'Baulamala' stone, presents a picturesque scene surrounded by lush greenery. The temple's construction journey commenced in 2017, and its location at 1,800 feet above sea level in Fatehgarh adds to its unique charm. With a towering height of 165 feet, the temple has been a labor of love for more than 150 workers who dedicated seven years to its realization.

The conceptualization of the Ram Temple in this district holds historical significance as Lord Govardhan has been venerated on this mountain for several decades. Additionally, during the Navakalebar of Lord Jagannath in 1912, Lord Sudharshan's tree was collected from Fatehgarh, marking another pivotal moment in the region's religious history. In honor of these traditions, the villagers initiated the formation of a committee known as Shri Ram Seva Parishad, with the temple work being spearheaded by a dedicated social worker and the Bhapur block vice chairperson appointed as the committee's president.

The inauguration proceedings are slated to commence on January 21, and dignitaries such as Puri Shankaracharya and the Maharaja have been extended invitations to partake in the grand occasion. Additionally, invitations have been dispatched to officials from various temples, including the renowned Jagannath temple in Puri. The event promises to be a testament to the enduring spiritual and cultural heritage of the region.
