The Special Cell of the Delhi Police has initiated an inquiry following the discovery of pro-Khalistan graffiti on the walls of a government school located in Delhi's Uttam Nagar area on Friday. The graffiti, conveying messages in support of an independent Khalistan, was promptly removed by personnel from the Delhi Police.
A parallel incident occurred on January 17 when similar slogans advocating a separate Khalistan were found inscribed on the walls in the Chander Vihar locality of Outer Delhi. These slogans explicitly called for a referendum on the demand for Khalistan's separation.
This development unfolds in the wake of renewed threats issued by Khalistani terrorist Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, founder of the banned organization Sikhs for Justice (SFJ), just ahead of Republic Day. Pannun, who possesses dual citizenship in the United States and Canada, has been classified as an 'individual terrorist' by India and has been under scrutiny by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) since 2019.
Sources suggest that Pannun orchestrates such activities through his sleeper cells in Delhi, particularly preceding Republic Day and Independence Day. In a recent communication, Pannun explicitly threatened the lives of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and the Director General of State Police, Gaurav Yadav, on Republic Day. Additionally, he urged gangsters to unite and impede the participation of top political leaders in the Republic Day parade.
Pannun has also extended threats against the 'pran pratishtha' or consecration ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya scheduled for January 22, an event set to be attended by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and more than 8,000 other dignitaries.
