Rahul Gandhi declares Meghalaya pineapples to be the "best in the world" and grows to love them

During his Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra in Meghalaya, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi expressed his admiration for the state's pineapples, claiming they were the most delectable he had ever encountered. He shared his experience, recounting a stop where he sampled pineapples sold by a mother-daughter duo on the roadside. Impressed by the flavor, Gandhi immediately called his mother to convey his plan of bringing some of these exquisite pineapples for her.

Reflecting on this experience, Gandhi raised questions about why such delicious pineapples, considered the best in the world, are not accessible globally. He attributed this limitation to the lack of developed infrastructure preventing farmers in the state from reaping the benefits of selling their produce internationally.

Highlighting the need for a new vision for India, Gandhi emphasized the importance of creating robust infrastructure that would enable farmers and local businesses to export their products to the global market. This, he believes, is crucial for realizing the full potential of high-quality produce like Meghalaya's renowned pineapples.
