Ram Mandir celebrations: Shivamogga confrontation between a Karnataka woman and Hindu campaigners

A tense and confrontational situation transpired in Karnataka's Shivamogga when a woman, accompanied by her three-year-old child, initiated the act of capturing photographs at Shivappa Circle, where Hindu activists were actively engaged in preparing 'prasad' for the forthcoming Ram Mandir celebrations.

Reportedly, Hindu activists confronted the woman, leading to a heated argument between the two parties. In response, the activists commenced chanting "Jai Shri Ram," while the woman countered by shouting "Allahu Akbar."

Police personnel present at the scene intervened promptly, taking measures to remove the woman to restore order and diffuse tensions. Subsequently, the woman's father asserted that she was grappling with mental health issues, currently undergoing treatment. The police are actively verifying the veracity of this claim.

It is noteworthy that no formal case was registered, and the authorities successfully managed to bring the situation under control. Mithun, the Superintendent of Police in Shivamogga, provided a statement, saying, "Regarding the incident at Shivappa Circle, the lady was reported as mentally unstable, according to her father's statement. She is under treatment, and we are currently verifying the medical documents."
