In the Gadag district of Karnataka, an individual has been apprehended for disseminating a manipulated image of Ayodhya's Ram Mandir on social media, as revealed by the police on Monday.
The widely circulated Facebook post portrays Pakistani flags atop the Ram Mandir, accompanied by the inscription 'Babri Masjid' at the bottom. In response to the post's circulation, pro-Hindu activists in Gadag lodged a police complaint, urging the arrest of the individual responsible.
Responding to the complaint, law enforcement officials detained Tajuddin Dafedar, the man behind the post, and mandated the removal of the content. Babasab Nemagoud, Superintendent of Police of Gadag, stated, "He is a Gadag local. We will probe if he belongs to any organization. We have taken him into custody."
During the interrogation, the accused claimed that he came across the post on Facebook and unintentionally shared it. The authorities are conducting further investigations into the matter.
It is noteworthy that this arrest coincided with the consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi led the rituals and celebrations marking the consecration of the Ram Lalla idol in the temple.
