During his visit to the temple town of Mathura, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami emphasized that religious sites across the country have witnessed significant development under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. Dhami made these remarks after paying a visit to the Govardhan Temple in Mathura.
Expressing his thoughts to the media, Dhami highlighted the extensive development at religious sites nationwide under Prime Minister Modi's governance. He underscored the commitment to preserving the original nature of Uttarakhand while facilitating development. Additionally, Dhami took pride in the construction of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya, considering it a matter of national pride.
Providing details about his visit, Dhami shared on X, "During my stay in Mathura, I had the privilege of worshipping Lord Giriraj by performing Dugdha Abhishek in the Govardhan Temple and also visited the Vatsalya Gram Orphanage established by Sadhvi Ritambhara ji and run by Paramshakti Peeth." He commended the efforts of Sister Sadhvi Ritambhara in connecting children and elders in the orphanage with family traditions and fostering cultural values among boys and girls.
Addressing the issue of religious conversion in Uttarakhand, Dhami affirmed that his government has taken stringent measures against unlawful religious conversion. He emphasized the enactment of robust laws to thwart any attempts at such conversions in the state.
Accompanied by BJP spokesperson Sudhanshu Trivedi in Mathura, Dhami's visit also included a comment on the upcoming consecration ceremony of the Ram Mandir. Trivedi remarked on the irony that those who once doubted the BJP's commitment to building a temple in Ayodhya are now eager to attend the consecration ceremony. He expressed a welcoming attitude towards opponents of the temple's construction who wished to attend the ceremony.
In another statement, Trivedi labeled it as "shameful" that individuals who breached Parliament security were being referred to as "unemployed youths" by opposition parties.
Vishva Hindu Parishad (VHP) Executive Chairperson, Alok Kumar, expressed the organization's focus on Mathura and Varanasi after the Ram Mandir's inauguration. He anticipated similar consecration ceremonies for new temples in both cities, emphasizing that favorable orders had already been issued by the courts. All political party presidents have been invited to the Ram Temple's consecration ceremony on January 22, and it is hoped that they will attend, according to Kumar.
