Following Maharashtra Assembly Speaker Rahul Narvekar's declaration that the Eknath Shinde-led faction is the "real Shiv Sena," former Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray criticized the verdict, terming it a "murder of democracy" and announcing his intention to seek justice from the Supreme Court.
In response to the judgment, Thackeray expressed his concerns about the disregard for Supreme Court orders, emphasizing that even after Anil Parab explained the court's directives, they were blatantly ignored. Thackeray alleged that this non-compliance reflects a belief that no authority, not even the Supreme Court, stands above those involved.
He also questioned why none of his MLAs, including himself, were disqualified by the Speaker. Asserting that the Shiv Sena will never be finished, Uddhav Thackeray announced that his camp would approach the Supreme Court.
"They wanted to delay the process and they have done it. We will go to the Supreme Court. Dhood ka dhood aur pani ka pani hoga (truth will be separated and set aside from the lies)," he stated.
Thackeray disputed the legitimacy of Shinde's faction as the real Shiv Sena, suggesting that it was all part of a pre-planned scenario. Meanwhile, the Shinde camp celebrated, lighting fireworks upon learning of the ruling's outcome. Sena (UBT) leaders Sanjay Raut and Aaditya Thackeray announced their party's intention to approach the Supreme Court against the Speaker's order, with Raut alleging a conspiracy by the BJP to dismantle Balasaheb Thackeray's Shiv Sena.
