A day after the consecration ceremony of Lord Ram's idol in Ayodhya, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed that the events witnessed on January 22 will be engraved in our collective memories for an extended period.
In a post on X, Prime Minister Modi shared his reflections, stating, "What we saw in Ayodhya yesterday, 22nd January, will be etched in our memories for years to come." Accompanying his message was a video featuring glimpses from the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony, showcasing the enthusiastic chanting of Lord Ram's name by thousands of people and a helicopter showering flower petals over the temple.
The landmark event saw the consecration of the new Ram Lalla idol at the Ayodhya temple, led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. During the ceremony, he emphasized the significance of moving beyond the construction of the grand temple to establish the foundation of a "strong, capable, and divine" India for the next 1,000 years.
In his ceremonial attire, Prime Minister Modi walked inside the temple premises with a silver 'chattar' (umbrella) placed on a red folded dupatta. Dressed in a golden kurta paired with a cream dhoti and patka, he took the 'Sankalp' for the 'pran pratishtha' ceremony and proceeded to the sanctum sanctorum for the rituals.
Other dignitaries present during the rituals inside the sanctum sanctorum included RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat, Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.
The consecration ceremony was marked by army helicopters showering flower petals on the temple premises. On Tuesday, the doors of the Ram temple in Ayodhya were opened to the general public, as depicted in a video showing a heavy influx of devotees at the premises.
The temple complex, constructed in the traditional Nagara style, spans 380 feet from east to west, 250 feet wide, and will eventually rise to 161 feet at the 'shikhar.' It is supported by 392 pillars and features 44 doors.
