Tej Pratap Yadav believes that Nitish Kumar ought to receive the "Girgit Ratna" award

Tej Pratap Yadav, a prominent leader of the RJD, took a critical stance on Sunday, suggesting that Nitish Kumar's penchant for altering his political allegiances warranted recognition akin to that of a chameleon, humorously proposing the creation of a 'Girgit' (Chameleon) Ratna award in his honor.

Kumar's resignation from the post of Chief Minister of Bihar on Sunday marked another instance of his political maneuvering, citing discord within the Mahagathbandhan coalition and the broader opposition bloc, INDIA, as the impetus behind his decision. He swiftly proceeded to stake a claim to form a new government, aligning once again with the BJP, a party he had distanced himself from less than 18 months ago.

Drawing an analogy to the chameleon's renowned ability to change its skin color, Yadav likened Kumar's political shifts to the rapid transformation exhibited by the reptile. In a tongue-in-cheek remark posted on X, he suggested that Kumar's adeptness at altering his political stance deserved acknowledgment through the proposed 'Chameleon Ratna' award, symbolizing the speed and agility with which Kumar adapted to changing circumstances.

As the elder son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, Yadav held a ministerial position within the Department of Environment, Forest, and Climate Change (DEFCC) during the tenure of the Mahagathbandhan government, offering a unique perspective on Kumar's political maneuvers from within the coalition itself.
