In keeping with the tradition of educational excellence associated with Indian Americans, Preesha's inclusion in this distinguished list is a testament to her outstanding performance in the above-grade-level tests, where over 16,000 students from more than 90 countries underwent assessment, as disclosed by the Johns Hopkins Centre for Talented Youth.
Currently enrolled as a Grade 3 student at Warm Spring Elementary School in Fremont, California, Preesha Chakraborty took the Johns Hopkins Centre for Talented Youth (JH-CTY) test during the Summer of 2023, as detailed in a media release on Monday.
This accomplishment aligns with the noteworthy achievements of other Indian-American students, exemplified by Natasha Perianayagam, a 13-year-old prodigy, who has secured a spot on the "world's brightest" students list for the second consecutive year, as acknowledged by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Natasha, who attends Florence M Gaudineer Middle School in New Jersey, underwent the Johns Hopkins Center For Talented Youth (CTY) test in Spring 2021, showcasing exceptional results in both verbal and quantitative sections, demonstrating a proficiency level equivalent to advanced Grade 8 performance.
