Women quota bill and Article 370 repeal: Prime Minister Modi summarizes the 17th Lok Sabha's changes


During his address at the final session of the 17th Lok Sabha, Prime Minister Narendra Modi underscored the mantra of the NDA government, emphasizing the principles of "reform, perform, and transform." He highlighted that this parliamentary term witnessed the realization of several decisions that had been awaited eagerly by multiple generations, notably including the abrogation of Article 370 in Jammu and Kashmir and the prohibition of triple talaq.

PM Modi hailed the remarkable productivity of the 17th Lok Sabha, noting that it achieved a commendable 97 percent productivity rate and successfully passed 30 bills during its tenure. Emphasizing his belief in the concept of 'minimum government, maximum governance', he articulated that democracy thrives when governmental intervention in citizens' daily lives is minimized.

Moreover, PM Modi asserted that the BJP government prioritized delivering "social justice" to the people of Jammu and Kashmir while robustly addressing terrorism through the enactment of stringent laws.

Reflecting on the transformative nature of the past five years, PM Modi expressed confidence that the nation would continue its trajectory of progress under the auspices of the 18th Lok Sabha. He characterized this period as one marked by a blend of reform and performance, culminating in tangible transformation across various spheres of governance.

PM Modi reiterated the significance of elections in the democratic process, asserting that they serve to enhance the nation's pride and uphold democratic traditions on the global stage.

Furthermore, PM Modi highlighted the epochal shift from the British-era Penal Code to the Nyaya Sanhita, symbolizing the evolution of India's legal framework and its journey towards true democracy.

Looking ahead, PM Modi emphasized the criticality of the next 25 years for the nation, emphasizing the collective aspirations, expectations, and resolve of the populace towards achieving desired outcomes.
