In the special trading session, Sensex and Nifty close higher; Tata Steel gains 4%

The benchmark stock market indices concluded Saturday’s special trading session on a positive trajectory, supported notably by robust gains in metal and media stocks.

The S&P BSE Sensex witnessed an increase of 60.80 points, settling at 7,806.15 points, while the NSE Nifty50 observed a rise of 39.65 points, reaching 22,378.40.

Throughout the two-hour trading session conducted in two parts, all the broader market indices exhibited positive trends.

Every Nifty sectoral index closed the trading session in favorable territory. Notably, Nifty Metal surged by nearly 1.6 percent, while Nifty Media experienced a notable uptick of 2 percent, attributed to a robust rebound in sectoral stocks.

Among the top gainers on the Nifty50 were Tata Steel, Hero MotoCorp, Tata Motors, Adani Ports, and JSW Steel. Conversely, the top decliners included M&M, Maruti, NTPC, Sun Pharma, and Nestle India.
