In a militant attack in Manipur, two paramilitary men were killed and two were injured



In the early hours of Saturday, armed militants launched an attack on Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel in Manipur's Bishnupur district, resulting in two fatalities and two injuries. The incident occurred between midnight and 2.15 am in the Naransena area.

According to police reports, the militants initiated the attack by firing a bomb at the CRPF outpost, which detonated within the premises. The assault, characterized by indiscriminate firing from hilltops, persisted for nearly two hours, targeting the security camp.

The deceased were identified as CRPF sub-inspector N Sarkar and head constable Arup Saini, while the injured personnel were inspector Jadav Das and constable Aftab Hussain. Das and Hussain sustained splinter wounds during the attack.

The CRPF personnel, belonging to the 128 Battalion, were deployed to provide security to the India Reserve Battalion (IRBn) camp in the Naransena area. Following the incident, a thorough search operation was launched to apprehend the perpetrators responsible for the attack.
