IPL2024: David Warner and Anrich Nortje make a comeback but Ishant is out for DC vs. SRH

In the IPL 2024 clash between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi, both teams made significant changes to their playing XI to enhance their chances of securing a victory.

DC captain Rishabh Pant confirmed the return of David Warner, Anrich Nortje, and Lalit Yadav to their playing XI for the crucial encounter against SRH. Nortje was brought in as a replacement for Ishant Sharma, who unfortunately suffered a back spasm just before the game. Lalit Yadav replaced Sumit Kumar, providing additional depth to the batting lineup. Warner's comeback strengthened the top order alongside players like Jake Fraser-McGurk and Abishek Porel. The bowling attack was bolstered by Kuldeep Yadav, Khaleel Ahmed, and Mukesh Kumar, with Axar Patel and Lalit Yadav ready to contribute with both bat and ball.

On the other hand, SRH, led by Pat Cummins, retained a strong batting lineup. Key players such as Abhishek Sharma, Travis Head, and Aiden Markram featured in the team, with Heinrich Klaasen handling the wicketkeeping duties. The team's all-around abilities were enhanced by Nitish Reddy and Shahbaz Ahmed, while a potent bowling squad comprising Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mayank Markande, and T Natarajan provided further support.

Captain Pat Cummins expressed confidence in his team's batting prowess, while Rishabh Pant emphasized the importance of staying competitive and playing quality cricket regardless of the venue. DC elected to bowl first, considering the pitch conditions and potential dew later in the game, which could favor the chasing team.

Both teams nominated impact subs, with DC including players like Prithvi Shaw, Shai Hope, Pravin Dubey, Rasikh Dar, and Sumit Kumar, while SRH listed Umran Malik, Anmolpreet Singh, Akash Singh, Glenn Phillips, and Washington Sundar as their impact subs.
