Meeting Arvind Kejriwal in jail, Bhagwant Mann remarks, made to meet like terrorists

Punjab Chief Minister and AAP leader Bhagwant Mann visited Delhi's Tihar Jail to meet his party chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who has been in custody since April 1 in connection with a money laundering case linked to the Delhi liquor policy. Mann expressed emotional distress, stating that Kejriwal was being treated unfairly, akin to a terrorist, and was deprived of basic amenities.

Mann recounted his meeting with Kejriwal, expressing sadness over the conditions in which the Delhi Chief Minister was being held. He criticized the treatment meted out to Kejriwal, emphasizing his integrity and contributions to transparent politics. Mann highlighted Kejriwal's inquiry about Punjab's affairs and affirmed AAP's resilience, predicting the party's significant impact in the upcoming elections.

Security was heightened outside Tihar Jail due to Mann's Z+ protectee status. Additionally, AAP leader Sandeep Pathak, accompanying Mann, shared Kejriwal's plans to review development projects and ensure continued governance despite his confinement.

Pathak reassured AAP's commitment to serving the people and stated that the Delhi government would continue functioning effectively from within the jail. He mentioned Kejriwal's focus on addressing public concerns and organizing ministerial reviews of ongoing initiatives.

Earlier in the day, Kejriwal's judicial custody was extended, with the ED accusing him of involvement in the Delhi liquor policy scandal and using illegal funds for political campaigns. AAP refuted these allegations, attributing them to political vendetta orchestrated by the BJP-led Centre.
