Nagpur man strangles son, kills live-in partner with hammer, and commits suicide

Tragic events unfolded in Nagpur city, Maharashtra, on Saturday evening when a 30-year-old man reportedly took his own life after allegedly committing a heinous act. The man, identified as Sachin Vinodkumar Raut, is believed to have killed his live-in partner, Naznin, aged 29, and their three-year-old son, Yug, inside a hotel room in the MIDC area, according to authorities.

The gruesome discovery was made by hotel staff at the Golden Key Hotel near Gajanan Colony, who promptly alerted the police upon finding the bodies of Raut, Naznin, and young Yug.

Details revealed by a police official paint a grim picture of the scene: Raut was found suspended from the ceiling fan, indicating suicide, while Naznin bore a fatal head injury, with a blood-stained hammer nearby. Disturbingly, no visible injuries were detected on Yug's body.

Initial investigations suggest a sequence of chilling events. Raut purportedly assaulted Naznin with the hammer before resorting to either poisoning or strangulation to end young Yug's life. Subsequently, he took his own life by hanging.

Raut, a truck driver by profession, was already married and a father of two. Despite this, he engaged in an extramarital relationship with Naznin, a native of Madhya Pradesh, and chose to cohabit with her.

The tumultuous relationship between Raut and Naznin reportedly reached a breaking point due to his alleged neglect and subsequent avoidance of Naznin. This friction culminated in frequent arguments, prompting the decision to live separately. Remarkably, just a day before the tragic incident, both parties signed a mutual agreement on a Rs 500 stamp paper, stipulating their intention to live apart. The police have seized this document as part of their ongoing investigation.

The trio, comprising Raut, Naznin, and Yug, checked into the hotel on the afternoon of the fateful day, further adding to the perplexing circumstances surrounding the case.

Authorities have taken swift action, registering a case of murder against the deceased Raut, as they continue to delve into the complexities of this harrowing incident.
