Union Railways and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw has made a bold declaration, asserting that within the upcoming five years, every railway passenger will be guaranteed a confirmed ticket. Vaishnaw highlighted the unprecedented transformation witnessed in Indian Railways over the past decade under Prime Minister Modi's leadership. He emphasized the government's pledge to significantly augment railway capacity, ensuring that nearly every passenger seeking to travel can secure a confirmed ticket within the next five years.

Furthermore, Vaishnaw outlined plans to fortify the Railways, an integral component of the nation's economic growth, with a focus on accelerating the expansion of facilities for passengers.

Reflecting on the remarkable progress achieved in the last decade, Vaishnaw cited impressive statistics: during the period from 2014 to 2024, approximately 31,000 kilometers of new tracks were laid, signifying a substantial increase compared to the preceding decade.

Moreover, the electrification of railways witnessed a remarkable surge, with an impressive 44,000 kilometers electrified over the last ten years, compared to a mere 5,000 kilometers from 2004 to 2014.

Vaishnaw further underscored the significant strides made in coach manufacturing, revealing that while only 32,000 coaches were produced between 2004 and 2014, an impressive 54,000 coaches were manufactured in the last decade.

Highlighting the government's commitment to infrastructure development, Vaishnaw pointed out the commissioning of two dedicated freight corridors spanning 2,734 kilometers, a feat that was nonexistent before 2014.

In essence, Vaishnaw's remarks underscore the government's proactive efforts to revolutionize Indian Railways, ensuring enhanced accessibility, efficiency, and comfort for passengers while bolstering the nation's transportation infrastructure.
