The joyful atmosphere of wedding festivities in Meerut, Uttar Pradesh, turned somber when an 18-year-old woman tragically passed away while dancing during pre-wedding celebrations at the bride's home. The incident, which occurred on Saturday, was captured on video and has since circulated widely on social media platforms.
In the video, the young woman can be seen enthusiastically participating in the dance alongside other family members. However, her joy turned to distress as she appeared to experience discomfort, clutching her chest before collapsing to the ground. Despite being rushed to the hospital, she was pronounced dead.
The sudden loss led to the postponement of the wedding, casting a pall over the celebratory occasion. It was revealed that the deceased woman had been attending the wedding of her maternal aunt, and the tragic event unfolded during the haldi ceremony, a customary pre-wedding ritual.
Heartbreakingly, the family disclosed to India Today TV that the young woman had been undergoing treatment for vertigo, a condition characterized by dizziness and imbalance. However, no postmortem examination was conducted as the family opted not to file a police complaint regarding the incident.
