Before his Broadway debut, George Clooney's brown hair makes him look unrecognizable

Simon Fisher-Becker, the British actor known for his roles in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone and Doctor Who has passed away at the age of 63. His husband, Tony, and his manager, Kim Barry, confirmed the news.

Barry shared a heartfelt tribute, saying,
"Today I lost not only a client in Simon Fisher-Becker, but a close personal friend of 15 years standing."

He fondly recalled the moment Fisher-Becker was cast as Dorium Maldovar in Doctor Who, describing him as "a writer, a raconteur, and a great public speaker," who was known for his kindness and gracious nature.

His husband, Tony, broke the news on social media, writing,
"Hello everyone. This is Tony, Simon’s husband. I have some very sad news. At 2:50 this afternoon Simon passed away."

He mentioned that he would keep the Facebook account open for some time but was unsure if he would post again.

Fisher-Becker was best known for playing the Fat Friar, the Hufflepuff House ghost, in Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone (known as Philosopher’s Stone in the UK). He also played Dorium Maldovar in Doctor Who Seasons 5 and 6, later reprising the role in Doctor Who: The Eleventh Doctor Chronicles and Jenny: The Doctor’s Daughter podcast series.

His acting career spanned decades, featuring appearances in British TV classics like One Foot in the Grave, The Bill, Love Soup, Puppy Love, and Afterlife. He also had a small role in the 2012 Oscar-winning film Les Misérables.

Fans and colleagues have taken to social media to mourn his passing, remembering his warmth, humor, and contributions to British television and film.
