In the Ranya Rao case, the ED raids a medical institution connected to the Karnataka Home Minister

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has conducted raids on the Sri Siddhartha Institute of Medical Sciences and Research Centre, a medical college linked to Karnataka Home Minister G Parameshwara, in connection with its ongoing probe into a money-laundering case related to actor Ranya Rao’s alleged gold smuggling activities.

G Parameshwara is listed as the Chairman of the medical college. Although the ED searched the institution, Parameshwara himself was not present at his residence during the operation. Sources suggest he was meeting with associates at an undisclosed location at the time.

The ED reportedly discovered a financial trail connecting Ranya Rao and the medical college, which prompted them to search the institution. Officials are now thoroughly examining the college’s financial documents and transactions to determine the nature and extent of the suspected money laundering link.

This development adds a significant political dimension to the ongoing investigation, as Parameshwara holds a key portfolio in the Karnataka state government. So far, no formal statement has been made by the minister or his office regarding the raid.
