Spiti police responded to a viral video showing a Bollywood actor allegedly violating traffic rules in Lahaul-Spiti district, posting on X that the video might be from 2023. They stated that the DySP Headquarters in Kyelang has been tasked with verifying the video's authenticity. The police reminded tourists and locals to adhere to traffic laws and behave responsibly, promising to take necessary legal action based on their investigation.
The video sparked significant backlash, particularly because the actor, Sood, had previously promoted safe driving and participated in road safety campaigns, which made the apparent violation more jarring for many viewers. The clip carried the caption, “Ye Spiti hai... yahan sirf asli log chalte hain” (This is Spiti. Only real walk this land).
So far, the actor—known for his philanthropic efforts—has not publicly addressed the video or the controversy surrounding it.
