Tamannaah, an actor, responds to a meme that supports Deepika Padukone over the Vanga dispute

Tamannaah Bhatia recently addressed rumors suggesting she supported Deepika Padukone amid the ongoing controversy with filmmaker Sandeep Reddy Vanga. The confusion arose after Tamannaah liked a throwback meme shared by Deepika’s fans showing Deepika responding to a misogynist comment during the 2020 ‘Chhapaak’ promotions. This like led many social media users to assume Tamannaah was publicly backing Deepika in the dispute.

To clear the air, Tamannaah posted a video on her Instagram story, appearing in a white robe, saying, “Can Instagram pls figure out how it likes pages on its own because random people are making this news and I really have work to do.” This was her way of dismissing the speculation and emphasizing she wasn’t intentionally endorsing any side.

The controversy centers on Vanga’s cryptic social media post after announcing Triptii Dimri as the female lead for his upcoming Telugu action-drama film ‘Spirit,’ starring Prabhas. Previously, reports suggested Deepika Padukone had opted out of the project citing disagreements over remuneration and demanding an eight-hour work schedule. However, Vanga later called these reports “cheap PR tactics,” claiming the real reason for Deepika’s exit was the film’s R-rated nature. He accused the leaks of being attempts to sabotage his film and undermine the younger actress, Triptii Dimri.

Deepika, while not directly responding to Vanga’s comments, spoke about handling difficult situations in a Vogue interview. She said she stays balanced by being truthful and authentic, listening to her inner voice, and making decisions that bring her peace.

So, while Tamannaah’s like sparked rumors of support for Deepika, she clarified it wasn’t intentional, distancing herself from the drama as the ‘Spirit’ controversy continues to unfold.
