India's Operation Sindoor marked a bold and historic response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack, in which 26 civilians were killed. In a precisely coordinated retaliation, the Indian Armed Forces struck nine high-value terror targets—four in Pakistan’s Punjab province and five in Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (POK).
The sites included:
-
Bahawalpur, a major base of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM),
-
Muridke, Lashkar-e-Taiba’s (LeT) headquarters,
-
Sawai Nalla, Sarjal, Kotli, Kotli Gulpur, Mehmoona Joya, and Bhimber—locations long linked to terrorist activities against India.
India’s strikes killed over 80 terrorists, according to security sources. Among those reportedly killed were 10 members of JeM chief Masood Azhar’s family and four of his key aides, as confirmed by BBC Urdu.
Videos circulating from Pakistan and POK in the aftermath showed funerals being held, lending visual confirmation to the scale and impact of the strike.
This marks India’s most extensive anti-terror military operation since the 1971 War, both in geographic scope and in the number of terrorist targets neutralized. It sends a clear and strategic message: India will no longer tolerate cross-border terrorism or its safe havens.
