Akshay Kumar claims that Tom & Jerry is the most violent program and gets ideas for his stunts from it

Akshay Kumar has surprised fans by revealing that his inspiration for many of his iconic action scenes comes not from traditional martial arts or action cinema—but from the classic cartoon ‘Tom & Jerry’.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Akshay said,
“Do you know where I draw all this inspiration from? All the stunts I’ve done? You won’t believe it, from Tom & Jerry.”

Calling it “the most violent show ever made for kids,” he added that the cartoon's exaggerated, fast-paced gags helped shape the physical comedy and creativity behind his stunts.

He even drew direct comparisons between specific episodes and his film scenes:

  • Tom hanging from a helicopter to catch Jerry? Akshay did the same in Sabse Bada Khiladi.

  • Tom dangling from a plane? Recreated in Khiladi 420.

  • A hammock under a chopper with a glass of wine? He mimicked that in Khatron Ke Khiladi.

He added jokingly,
“People think it’s humorous, but it’s not. Tom breaks a whole house with a bat. It’s violent! Please understand—it’s a violent show you’re showing your kids!”

Known as Bollywood's ‘Khiladi’, Akshay has always been admired for doing his own stunts, often without a body double. But this insight into his creative influences adds a humorous twist to his otherwise intense action persona.

On the work front, Akshay is set to appear as Lord Shiva in the upcoming Telugu mythological film Kannappa, alongside Prabhas, Mohanlal, and Vishnu Manchu, scheduled for release on June 27. He also has major projects like ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and Priyadarshan’s horror-comedy ‘Bhooth Bangla’ in the works.
