Ed Sheeran has shared his deep love for India while reflecting on the making of his latest music video, "Sapphire." In a new behind-the-scenes clip posted on Instagram, the British singer revealed that the shoot took nearly three weeks—his longest video shoot ever—and described it as "entirely worth it."
The music video for "Sapphire," released on June 5, blends Sheeran’s signature sound with Indian musical influences, creating a vibrant dance track with a distinct desi flavour. The visuals feature grand Indian sets, including scenes filmed on the sets of SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali, and a surprise cameo by Shah Rukh Khan. One standout moment is when Sheeran sings a few lines in Punjabi, delighting Indian fans.
"Sapphire" is the third single from Ed Sheeran’s upcoming album Play, following "Old Phone" and "Azizam." The full behind-the-scenes video is now available on YouTube, offering a closer look at the effort and cultural appreciation behind this cross-cultural collaboration.
