The musician visits Arijit Singh and the Baahubali set, and Ed Sheeran's Sapphire gets an SRK touch

Ed Sheeran is creating quite a buzz ahead of his upcoming single, Sapphire, releasing on June 5 as part of his new album Play. Recently, he shared a lively photo and video collection from his India tour, highlighting special moments that showcase his deep affection for the country.

One of the most viral clips features Ed singing the hookline of Sapphire alongside Bollywood icon Shah Rukh Khan, captioned with affection: "@iamsrk, love that guy so much." This isn’t their first meet — Ed had previously performed exclusively for SRK and even joined him in recreating the superstar’s famous pose and dancing to the classic Om Shanti Om track Deewangi Deewangi.

Ed also shared a cozy moment with Indian singing sensation Arijit Singh over coffee, calling him a friend: "Me and @arijitsingh having a coffee on a barge."

His post, dubbed the ‘Sapphire dumpington,’ reveals his growing love for India, including getting a Punjabi tattoo and visiting iconic film sets. A standout memory was visiting director SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali set, where he posted a photo of himself on the famous throne, expressing his excitement: "I watched Bahubali in the cinema so flipped out seeing the set."

Before Sapphire, Ed had already released two other tracks from Play — Old Phone and Azizam — building anticipation for the full album.
