Uppu Kappurambu by Keerthy Suresh is getting ready for its July OTT debut

Keerthy Suresh's latest Telugu film 'Uppu Kappurambu' premiered on June 4 on Prime Video, available in India and over 240 countries. This OTT-exclusive release marks a fresh direction for the actress, known for balancing commercial roles with content-driven cinema.

Directed by Ani IV Sasi, the film is a coming-of-age satire set in a fictional 1990s rural village, Chitti Jayapuram. It centers around the community’s unusual struggle—a burial infrastructure crisis—which sets the tone for a story filled with satirical humour, quirky characters, and social commentary.

The cast includes:

  • Keerthy Suresh

  • Suhas

  • Babu Mohan

  • Shatru

  • Talluri Rameshwari

Originally shot in Telugu, 'Uppu Kappurambu' is also dubbed in Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada, making it accessible to a pan-Indian audience.

Director Ani IV Sasi describes it as “a sincere attempt to blend comedy with meaningful commentary,” reflecting on how ordinary people face extraordinary challenges with limited resources and unwavering spirit.

Backed by Ellanar Films and produced by Radhika Lavu, the film stands out for its authentic rural setting and unconventional theme. Prime Video's Nikhil Madhok called it a “thought-provoking yet delightfully quirky” addition to the platform’s growing slate of regional originals.

Keerthy Suresh, a National Award-winning actor for Mahanati, continues to explore diverse roles. She is also set to appear in 'Revolver Rita' and 'Kannivedi', further cementing her presence across South Indian cinema.
