Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu on Saturday clarified that the report concerning the June 12 Air India crash is preliminary and emphasized that no definitive conclusions should be drawn until the final investigation report is released.
According to the initial probe, a critical failure occurred just three seconds after take-off from Ahmedabad:
-
The fuel supply to both engines of the Air India Boeing 787 was cut off.
-
The fuel control switches for both engines moved from "RUN" to "CUTOFF", one after the other, within a second.
This automatic or uncommanded switch movement is highly unusual and is being closely investigated. Authorities have not ruled out technical malfunction, human error, or sabotage, but Minister Naidu stressed that speculation should be avoided until all aspects are fully examined.
He reassured the public that the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and relevant safety agencies are conducting a thorough analysis of flight data and cockpit recordings to determine the root cause of the crash.
No further official comment on accountability or systemic failures will be made until the final report is issued.
