In 2026, Deepika Padukone will write history by becoming a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Deepika Padukone has made history as the first Indian actor to be named an honouree in the Motion Pictures category for the Hollywood Walk of Fame Class of 2026. Her name now stands alongside global icons like Demi Moore, Rachel McAdams, Emily Blunt, Timothée Chalamet, Rami Malek, and Stanley Tucci, marking a significant moment for Indian representation in global cinema.

The announcement was made live by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, following a meeting on June 20, where a dedicated panel selected honourees from hundreds of nominations. The final list was approved by the Chamber’s board of directors.

Peter Roth, former CEO of Warner Bros Television and current chairman of the Walk of Fame selection committee, stated during the live event:

“We are excited to announce the newest selections of 35 esteemed individuals who will be enshrined on the Walk of Fame as part of the prestigious Class of 2026. These talented individuals have made significant contributions to the world of entertainment, and we are thrilled to honour them with this well-deserved recognition.”

This honour adds to Deepika’s long list of international achievements. She was featured in TIME magazine’s 100 Most Influential People in 2018 and later awarded the TIME100 Impact Award for her advocacy of mental health awareness.

In 2022, she gained global visibility by unveiling the FIFA World Cup trophy at the final in Qatar. She also broke new ground in fashion by becoming the first Indian face of Cartier and Louis Vuitton, further cementing her as a global ambassador for Indian talent and style.

Despite her international success, Deepika remains a top-tier force in Indian cinema, known for balancing critically acclaimed roles and box-office hits. After a brief pause to embrace motherhood, she is expected to return to the big screen with several major projects, including a much-anticipated film with director Atlee.

Her inclusion in the Walk of Fame is not just a personal milestone but also a powerful symbol of Indian cinema’s growing global footprint.
