Actor Patralekhaa, who recently announced her pregnancy with husband Rajkummar Rao, has opened up about embracing a new chapter in life — both personally and professionally. In a heartfelt interview with Hindustan Times, the 35-year-old shared her excitement about motherhood, her plans to take a temporary step back from acting, and how she's already imagining adventurous family moments post-birth.
Reflecting on her current state, Patralekhaa admitted that the reality of pregnancy hasn’t fully sunk in, saying, "Apart from feeling really tired, I don't know if the news of being pregnant with our first baby has really sunk in or not." She also confirmed that she won’t be shooting for the next six to seven months and plans to stay at home during this time.
Adventure, however, remains firmly on her mind. “Once the baby is here, we must do a trip to the southern part of New Zealand because we didn't cover that. That’s something that's on our bucket list now. Perhaps we can do some bungee jumping or something crazier with the baby,” she quipped, signaling her spirited optimism for the future.
She also revealed that she was already pregnant during their recent trip to New Zealand, a period that gave her glimpses into how Rajkummar might be as a father — something that seemed to deepen their bond and her excitement.
Despite stepping back from acting temporarily, Patralekhaa remains connected to her creative side. She shared the couple’s enthusiasm about their upcoming Netflix project, which will be the first under their new production banner. “We have another baby that's going to come soon on Netflix,” she said, calling it a culmination of years of dreams and hard work. "Many years back, we had a dream of having our own production house, and now it is coming to reality."
Patralekhaa and Rajkummar Rao, who met on the sets of Citylights (2014), have been married since November 2021. Their journey — from co-stars to life partners, and now soon-to-be parents and producers — continues to reflect a partnership rooted in love, growth, and shared ambition.
