Pratik Gandhi is in charge of India's covert mission in the espionage drama Saare Jahan Se Accha

Netflix’s upcoming espionage drama ‘Saare Jahan Se Accha’, starring Pratik Gandhi as a sharp-witted intelligence officer, is set to premiere on August 13, just ahead of India’s Independence Day. Set in the politically charged 1970s, the series delves deep into India’s covert surveillance operations aimed at stopping an enemy nation from becoming a nuclear power.

The announcement video introduces Gandhi’s character, Vishnu Shankar, in a tense control room, decoding threats and emphasizing the precision demanded of spycraft. His dialogue lays out the stakes:

“Our target is the enemy nation. And the goal? To enter their backyard and stop them from becoming a nuclear power.”

Describing it as a mission-based thriller, the series explores themes of patriotism, sacrifice, and the moral ambiguity faced by those in intelligence services. Gandhi says playing Vishnu Shankar, who balances duty with inner moral conflict, was one of his most challenging roles.

Directed by Sumit Purohit and created by Gaurav Shukla, the series boasts a strong ensemble cast including Sunny Hinduja, Suhail Nayyar, Kritika Kamra, Tillotama Shome, Rajat Kapoor, and Anup Soni. The show is co-written by a team of seven writers, ensuring layered storytelling and authentic espionage detail.

'Saare Jahan Se Accha' is produced by Bhavesh Mandalia, who also serves as the executive producer alongside Shukla, Sejal Shah, and Aditya Nimbalkar.

Coming on the heels of Gandhi’s appearance in Netflix’s ‘Dhoom Dhaam’ with Yami Gautam, this series promises a more intense, grounded, and historically resonant narrative, combining thrill and national duty in equal measure.
