Saiyaara reservations in advance: Ahaan Pandey might be the next big thing

Yash Raj Films’ ‘Saiyaara’ is off to a phenomenal start, setting the tone for what could be one of the biggest Bollywood debuts in recent years. With over 1 lakh tickets already sold and advance bookings crossing ₹4.57 crore in India, the film is creating waves—despite minimal promotions and a cast of fresh faces. It stars Ahaan Pandey, cousin of Ananya Panday, alongside Aneet Padda, in what trade experts are calling a rare breakout debut.

Directed by Mohit Suri, known for crafting emotional, music-driven love stories, Saiyaara revolves around Krish Kapoor (Ahaan), a rising singer who falls for his manager, Vaani (Aneet). Their passionate romance gets tested by the unpredictability of fame, ambition, and fate—delivering a classic Bollywood mix of love, pain, and redemption.

The film’s musical identity is playing a key role in driving hype. YRF’s strategy of letting the music speak for itself—rather than relying on typical promotion-heavy campaigns—appears to be working, especially with younger audiences on social media praising the tracks even before the film’s release.

With over 1.5 lakh tickets likely to be sold before the release on July 18, projections indicate a double-digit opening day, possibly ₹12–15 crore, which is nearly unheard of for debut actors in recent years. If word-of-mouth proves strong, the collections could surge further with spot bookings during evening and night shows.

Many in the trade are drawing comparisons to Hrithik Roshan’s explosive debut in ‘Kaho Naa... Pyaar Hai’, and calling Ahaan the most promising debutant of this generation—a potential star-in-the-making whose charisma and screen presence are already resonating with audiences.

If the momentum holds, Saiyaara could be the launchpad YRF hoped for, and a revival of sorts for the romantic musical genre in mainstream Bollywood.
