The government's new superapp for tracking trains and booking IRCTC tickets is called RailOne. Everything you need to know in ten points

Indian Railways Launches RailOne App

Indian Railways has officially launched the RailOne app, an all-in-one mobile application designed to simplify train travel and consolidate various services into a single, streamlined platform for passengers.

The app was unveiled by Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw during the 40th Foundation Day of the Centre for Railway Information Systems (CRIS) in New Delhi. According to the ministry, this app merges previously scattered railway services into one cohesive platform.

Key Highlights:

  1. Upgraded Version of Swarail App
Though new in name, RailOne is essentially a renamed and upgraded version of the Swarail App, which had been in pilot testing. It is now officially available on both Android and iOS platforms with enhanced features and full-scale support.

  2. All Railway Services in One Place
RailOne integrates services from multiple popular apps including:

    • IRCTC Rail Connect

    • UTSonMobile

    • NTES

    • Rail Madad

    • Food on Track

Passengers can now book tickets, file grievances, order food, track trains, and more — all within one app.

  3. Reserved and Unreserved Ticket Booking
IRCTC continues to manage reserved ticket bookings. However, RailOne is authorized to facilitate both reserved and unreserved bookings. Users can log in using their existing IRCTC credentials, eliminating the need to re-register.

  4. Live Train Tracking
The app offers real-time updates on:

    • Train location

    • Platform number

    • Expected delays

  5. R-Wallet Integration
RailOne includes R-Wallet, Indian Railways' in-house digital payment system. Users get a 3% discount on unreserved ticket bookings via R-Wallet. Transactions are authenticated through biometric or mPIN security.

  6. Comprehensive Travel Assistance
    The app provides:

    • PNR status updates

    • Booking history

    • Coach position finder

    • Food delivery to seat

    • Porter booking

    • Last-mile taxi options

    • Refund management

  7. Multilingual Support
The app offers a simplified user interface and supports multiple Indian languages, increasing accessibility for users across regions.

  8. Future Integration with PRS
RailOne’s launch comes ahead of a planned Passenger Reservation System (PRS) overhaul by December 2025, which will enable higher traffic handling, more booking options, and improved user access.
