Tesla is set to open its second showroom in India on August 11 at Worldmark 3 in Aerocity, Delhi, following the launch of its first outlet at Mumbai’s Bandra Kurla Complex on July 15. This new showroom, like its Mumbai counterpart, will act as a display and customer experience center, allowing visitors to explore Tesla's electric vehicles up close and learn about the company's technology.
The showroom is expected to showcase the Model Y SUV, which marks Tesla’s entry into the Indian market. The Model Y rear-wheel drive is priced at ₹60 lakh, while the long-range rear-wheel drive version costs ₹68 lakh. These prices are notably higher than those in the US, China, or Europe due to India’s hefty import duties, as the Model Y is being sold as a completely built unit (CBU).
Tesla's Model Y units for India are being imported from the company’s Gigafactory in Shanghai, which serves as the production center for many of its global markets. As of now, six Model Y units have been brought to India and will be used for display and test drives, especially at the Mumbai showroom.
Alongside the vehicles, Tesla has also shipped supercharger stations and accessories worth nearly USD 1 million, indicating plans to support EV infrastructure in the country. The launch of the Delhi showroom further signals Tesla’s growing commitment to the Indian market as it explores long-term expansion.
